Our team is dedicated to providing the best patient care available. We are here to make your visit to us as comfortable and informative as possible. Affordable Dental Care firmly believe dental visits are improved by establishing a great relationship with you, as your dental and general health and wellbeing are our main priorities. Part of our responsibility is ongoing training and education to make sure each member of the team delivers the exceptional experience every patient deserves.
Dr Kim Dodds
Dr Kim Dodds graduated with a credit in 1992. She spent her first 2 years in the oral surgery unit in Christchurch New Zealand, where she gained valuable skill and additional knowledge in trauma and wisdom tooth removal.
She has spent the last 20 years practising all aspects of general dentistry in Queensland and has recently relocated to Airlie Beach. When not working, she enjoys the outdoors and being near the ocean. Kim has a particular interest in health, fitness, gardening, fishing with her husband Tim and looking after her weimaraners.
Dr Gabrielle Gordon
Dr Gabrielle Gordon Graduated from James Cook University in Cairns, Queensland, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Gabrielle has experience working in both public and private practices in rural areas around Queensland and Australia. She has recently relocated to Airlie beach from Cairns. Gabrielle has experience in all areas of general dentistry with a special interest in oral surgery and preventative dentistry.
When not working, she loves to spend time at the reef either diving or snorkelling and also exploring the national parks around North Queensland.
Dr Jonathon Kellaris
Dr. Jonathon Kellaris graduated from James Cook University in Cairns, Queensland, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Jonathon has experienced working in the wonderful world of public and private dentistry in rural areas of Queensland and Launceston, Tasmania.
After living in the small coastal town of Yeppoon, Central Queensland, Jonathon relocated to Airlie Beach to be closer to his immediate family. In his spare time, Jonathon enjoys relaxing at the beach, spending time with friends and family whilst watching any sport that catches his eye.
Dr Nick Shepherd
Dr Nicholas Shepherd graduated from James Cook University in Cairns, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Nicholas is originally from Townsville and has worked in the public health sector across rural North Queensland and the Northern Territory. Nicholas has a primary focus on preventative dentistry and has a special interest in oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry.
When Nicholas is not working, you’ll find him outdoors, mountain biking, spearfishing when the weather is good or relaxing at the beach.

Leanne Mitchell
Hygienist
Leanne has over 12 years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist, after graduating from the University of Otago in New Zealand, she has spent most of the time since working in the Whitsundays. Mum to two young children, one of which was a thumb sucker, led Leanne to undergo training to become a Thumb Sucking Clinic Provider. Helping children cease their sucking habits has been a welcome skill in addition to her love to provide comprehensive and gentle preventive dental treatment, oral hygiene advice and building relationships with her patients.
Away from work, Leanne loves to spend time with her family, running, sewing and trying to keep up with her kids.
Michele Britton
Practice Manager / Dental Hygienist
Michele has worked within the Dental Industry for close to 30 years and for the last 19 years as a Dental Hygienist. Born in the Whitsundays and recently returned home for a ‘tree change’. Michele loves spending time with her 3 fur-kids and the occasional ride on her motorbike she’s named Ruby. A creative cookie with an affinity for furniture restoration, gardening, and all things vintage.
Loren Reid
Director/Practice Manager
Loren grew up in Melbourne before moving to Airlie Beach in January 2007. After completing her certificates in 1992 she then progressed to become a senior Dental Assistant then Practice Manager within a large dental surgery. With over 30 years of experience within the dental industry, she has a diverse knowledge of all facets of dentistry. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cooking and catching up with family and friends. Loren is married and has two adult children.
Kayreen Burgum
Practice Manager / Dental Assistant
Kayreen moved to the Whitsundays in 2016 and joined the team at Affordable Dental in 2018. Kayreen comes with many years of experience as a Dental Assistant and several years in Administrative roles. When not at work Kayreen enjoys listening to music, spending time in her garden, exploring the Whitsundays and hanging out with family and friends.
Natalie Lambie
Front desk coordinator / Dental Assistant
Natalie completed her certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2001 in central Victoria, moving to Melbourne soon after. Natalie nursed in practices ranging from general to specialists, to then settling at a large practice for 8 years as a Senior Dental Assistant and soon after becoming a Practice Manager. Natalie moved to the Whitsundays in 2015 for a sea change with her husband, three children, and staffy dog Diesel. She has a huge passion for doTerra oils and in her spare time, you will find her at CrossFit 4802 training and coaching CrossFit kids and studying to further her CrossFit career.
Jordyn Albergo
Senior Clinical Coordinator
Jordyn began her dental career at Affordable Dental Care during her final year at high school as a trainee. She has since completed her certificate in Dental Assisting in November 2019.
Her interests outside of work include exploring the Whitsundays, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Chloe Goddard
Dental Assistant
Chloe recently moved to the Whitsundays from Melbourne and is loving the small-town vibe.
She is currently completing her Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
When Chloe isn’t at work she enjoys going camping, exploring the Whitsundays and getting out on the water for a ski.
Abbey Walters
Dental Assistant
Abbey is a long time local of the Whitsundays.
Abbey completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2009.
She has experience in many dental roles including; assisting general, specialist and orthodontic practitioners, reception and clinical coordination.
Abbey spent a few years living in Perth, returning to the Whitsundays in 2014. She has been with Affordable Dental since, with a year or two off to recover from an accident and then the arrival of her beautiful young son.
Abbey is enjoying being back part-time, with the Affordable Dental Team.
